In Budapest, at Vajdahunyad Castle and its surroundings, the 8th National Public Employment Exhibition and Fair will be held. At the event on September 12–13, 2025, visitors will be able to try and purchase vegetables and fruits processed within the public employment programs, including jams, syrups, pickles, fruit juices, dairy products, and smoked goods. They can also try specialties such as red onion jam, cherry chutney, pumpkin seed oil, the traditional molnárkalács (sweet rolls), purchase lavender-filled decorative objects, as well as handmade and engraved gifts, decorative and practical items, unique carved wooden and embroidered or cross-stitched folk art.

Food lovers can enjoy traditional folk dishes and regional specialties. Exhibitors will offer tastings of slambuc (a traditional Hungarian pasta dish), harvest-style beef stew, stuffed laska (pasta) from Magyargéc, rabbit paprikash from Abony, village-style pork feast cutlings, roasted sausage, and fried blood sausage.
Our event also offers a variety of activities for families with young children. Kids can watch a police dog show to learn about police work, sit inside a real fire truck, and take part in craft workshops where they can try weaving, wood carving, basket making, broom making, and pottery.
On both days, children can enjoy a bouncy castle, glitter tattoos, candy cannon, and children’s concerts. In addition to music and dance performances, on Friday evening the Melody Maker will perform, while on Saturday the Orchestra of the Emergency Police will entertain the audience.
